City Lights Pocket Poet Series: 2005-2025 provides a brief profile of the eight volumes added to the Pocket Poet Series in the last twenty years. It introduces new readers to the breath of poetry found in the Series and reminds followers of the Series of its rich history and place in contemporary poetry.
 

Founded in 1955, the Series is alive today and represented by brilliant poets dedicated to their craft. The eight volumes include the jazz-infused poems of Kamau Daaood, the long missing poems of Philip Lamantia and John Hoffman, poems by the iconic figure of the Beat, San Francisco Renaissance and emerging 60’s scene David Meltzer, the soulful and haunting poems of exiled Cristina Peri Rossi, striking poems of Tongo Eisen-Martin, the challenging and rhythmic poems of Will Alexander, and the Gaza-inspired poems by Nasser Rabah.
